Afternoon Coffee with Heikki Koivurova

At this Afternoon Coffee, Heikki Koivurova shares insights from his decades of collaborative work in industrial design and product development. Heikki is an experienced industrial designer and founder of Totaldesign Oy, with over 30 years in product development, concept design, and productization. Known for his hands-on and practical approach, Heikki has worked on projects for companies like Ponsse, Logset, Sisu Defence, and Sako-Beretta, helping them turn ideas into manufacturable and marketable products.

Heikki’s special expertise includes working with plastics, natural fiber composites, and heavy machinery. He understands how to choose the right materials and manufacturing methods, while keeping sustainability in mind-and emphasizes working closely with other experts, entrepreneurs, and designers to find solutions that work in the real world. He has also played a key role in launching Finland’s national Design Start program, helping bring design support to small and medium-sized businesses.
